Chrystelle Amouzou
Chrystelle Amouzou, RN is a Registered Nurse, Nurse Navigator – Multicultural with Metro South Health and has more than 18 years of healthcare experience across acute care, chronic disease management, complex care coordination and health system navigation.
Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Chrystelle has lived experience of forced displacement and refugee resettlement. This personal journey, together with her professional nursing career, has shaped her commitment to health equity, culturally responsive care and improving health literacy for refugee and multicultural communities.
In her current role, Chrystelle supports culturally and linguistically diverse patients and families to navigate Australia’s healthcare system, working collaboratively across hospital, primary care and community services to improve access to care, strengthen continuity of care and advocate for equitable health outcomes.
Chrystelle is passionate about ensuring that the voices of refugee and multicultural communities are heard and contribute meaningfully to the design, delivery and continuous improvement of healthcare services. She values collaboration between communities, clinicians and health organisations to create services that are culturally safe, accessible and responsive.
Alongside her clinical role, Chrystelle is the founder of Community Health & Navigation Support Services (CHNSS), an independent nursing consultancy providing healthcare navigation, clinical consultation, care coordination and support for vulnerable and culturally diverse communities.
She holds a Bachelor of Nursing from the University of Southern Queensland and a Graduate Certificate in Cardiovascular Nursing from the University of Tasmania. She is currently undertaking a Graduate Diploma of Advanced Nursing (Primary Health) to further strengthen her expertise in community, primary healthcare and population health.
